KANO/Nigeria: Fidelity Bank Plc is set to bring its Quarterly Business Forum to Kano on Wednesday, September 2, as the financial institution seeks to connect businesses in Northern Nigeria with practical knowledge and opportunities for expansion.

The forum, which will bring together entrepreneurs, business owners, industry leaders and other stakeholders, is themed “Positioning Northern Businesses for Growth.”

Divisional Head, Small and Medium-scale Enterprises Banking at Fidelity Bank Plc, Ugochi Osinigwe, said the forum was designed to provide businesses with knowledge, connections and opportunities that could strengthen their competitiveness.

She said taking the programme to Kano reflected the bank’s effort to support businesses across the country, with particular attention to entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria.

“The Fidelity Bank Quarterly Business Forum is designed to equip businesses with practical knowledge, meaningful connections, and access to opportunities that can drive growth and competitiveness,” Osinigwe said.

According to her, the Kano edition will provide a platform for participants to examine issues affecting business performance and identify practical ways of responding to the changing economic environment.

Discussions at the forum are expected to cover areas including financial management, access to finance, digital solutions, market expansion, operational efficiency and strategies for building sustainable enterprises.

Participants will also have opportunities to interact with industry experts and other business owners, exchange experiences and explore possible collaborations.

The Kano event follows an earlier edition of the Quarterly Business Forum in Port Harcourt, which Fidelity Bank said provided entrepreneurs with business insights, networking opportunities and perspectives on sustainable enterprise growth.

The bank said the forum forms part of its broader efforts to support Nigeria’s micro, small and medium-sized enterprises through access to finance, business knowledge, capacity development and strategic networks.

Its SME-focused initiatives have also attracted industry recognition. The bank recently received the Development Bank of Nigeria Service Ambassadors Award for the Highest Impact on MSMEs Accessing Credit for the First Time, according to the company.

Fidelity Bank said the recognition reflected its efforts to expand financial inclusion and improve access to credit for businesses that are entering the formal credit system.

The bank currently operates as a commercial deposit money bank with digital banking channels and branches across Nigeria, as well as a United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.
