LAGOS/Nigeria: Against the solemn atmosphere of Eid prayers at the historic Dodan Barracks in Lagos, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday delivered a strong message of hope and economic recovery, declaring that Nigeria is gradually emerging from the hardship and turbulence that greeted the early days of his administration.

The President, who joined hundreds of Muslim faithful to observe the Eid al-Mubarak prayers, said the painful economic reforms introduced by his government were necessary to rescue the nation from collapse, assuring Nigerians that the toughest phase of the country’s economic challenges had passed.

Tinubu was accompanied by prominent dignitaries including Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola; Lagos Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, alongside other political leaders, clerics and worshippers.

Speaking in his Eid-el-Kabir message to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, the President acknowledged the economic pains and sacrifices citizens have endured since the commencement of his administration, insisting that the reforms were designed to stabilise and reposition the nation’s economy for long-term prosperity.

“The toughest days are behind us,” Tinubu declared, assuring Nigerians that their sacrifices over the past years would soon translate into visible gains and national prosperity.

According to him, the administration’s economic policies have already begun yielding positive results through improved financial stability, renewed investor confidence and increased opportunities for growth across critical sectors of the economy.

The President explained that the ongoing reforms would pave the way for job creation, industrial expansion and stronger economic prosperity capable of improving the lives of millions of Nigerians.

Drawing parallels between the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir and the country’s present realities, Tinubu noted that sacrifice, patience and perseverance often precede victory and lasting success.

He urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the nation, calling for unity, resilience and collective commitment toward building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.

Meanwhile, other national leaders including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and several governors also used the Eid celebration to call for peace, patriotism and national cohesion.

However, Tinubu’s message stood out prominently as he sought to reassure millions of Nigerians battling economic hardship that the country was steadily moving toward recovery and renewed hope.

As worshippers departed the prayer ground under the Lagos skyline, the President’s message echoed strongly — that beyond the sacrifice and hardship lies the promise of a new Nigeria driven by stability, opportunity and national renewal.
