Oborevwori Appoints 11 New Permanent Secretaries to Strengthen Delta Civil Service

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the appointment of 11 new Permanent Secretaries as part of ongoing efforts to reposition the state public service for greater efficiency, professionalism and improved service delivery.

The appointments, announced in Asaba through an official statement from the Directorate of Government House and Protocol, are seen as a strategic move aimed at reinforcing the administrative structure of government and sustaining reforms within the Delta State civil service.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are Dr. Yinkore A. Paul, Dr. Okwunze A.C., Amadubogha Peters, Nkenchor O.O., Akambe O.H., Engr. Aghagba S., Ogbugo Victor Chike, Ighoyota M. Rocky, Itawansa Augustine A., Onobraekpeyan O. Edwin and Nkemachor Lucky.

Government sources said the appointments reflected Governor Oborevwori’s determination to strengthen institutional capacity and reward competence, diligence and years of dedicated service within the state bureaucracy.

The development is also being viewed as part of the administration’s broader strategy to inject fresh leadership and renewed administrative energy into ministries, departments and agencies across the state.

Observers believe the elevation of the new Permanent Secretaries demonstrates the governor’s confidence in experienced technocrats to drive policy implementation and sustain the objectives of his administration’s development agenda.

According to the statement, the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries will hold on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, by 10:00 a.m., while invited guests are expected to be seated by 9:30 a.m.
