The people of Umutu are in mourning mood as a trailer had crushed a couple and their unborn child. According to eye witnessing to the incident, the accident happened along the ever busy Agbo/Sapele federal highway.
Ndokwa reporters gathered that the couple (Name withheld) were returning from farm when they met their untimely death. An eye witness from Ebedei, a neighboring community, said before the killing of the couple and their unborn child, she was thrown of the road by the bucket of the same trailer, few seconds before the couple was crushed to death as they were coming back from the farm on their motor cycle.
An effort to confirm the incident with the divisional police office was unsuccessful as the DPO was not in seat.
Meanwhile, the difficulty in plying the same road from Obiaruku to Abraka was witnessed on Friday25 July, 2014 as five passenger died as they were going to Abraka.
Eye witnesses informed our reporters that a white Camry was travelling on the same direction and ran into the Keke from behind, knocking of the passengers, leading to the death of a female passenger on the spot. The rest occupants who were rushed to the hospital died few hours later.
As the scene of the accident, it was observed that the remains of the Keke cannot be salvaged, while the car was taken to the police station.
