KADUNA/Nigeria: The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Kaduna State Government for the hosting of the 3rd edition of Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) in Kaduna.
In a statement signed by Stanley Ogadigo, Director of Public Relations, the President of the Institute, Ike Neliaku, said the annual gathering of communication professionals and policymakers, scheduled for April 19–25, 2026, is strategically designed to focus on a critical sector of the economy—the agricultural sector—emphasising that food security holds the key to addressing many of the nation’s challenges.
Dr. Neliaku noted that the week-long event, expected to attract over 2,000 participants from within and outside the country, would leave a positive imprint on the reputation of Kaduna State. He commended the state governor, Uba Sani, for positioning Kaduna as a model of good governance through people-oriented policies that promote unity and inclusion.
In his remarks, Governor Sani described NPRW as one of the most significant programmes to be hosted by the state, assuring that the Kaduna State Government would provide maximum support to ensure a successful event.
He said the theme, “Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plate; the Imperatives of Public Relations,” aligns with his administration’s commitment to job creation, enhanced social security and improved Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) through the agriculture value chain.
“We are glad that you are going beyond hosting an event to organising training for our traditional institutions in communication dynamics, building the capacity of government functionaries and holding citizens’ engagement. This shows that you are indeed interested in contributing to the growth of our state,” the governor stated.
Earlier, Chairman of the National Planning Committee of the NPRW, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, said Kaduna State stands to gain immensely from hosting the event, including increased exposure as a preferred investment destination and an improved scorecard on food security.
