IDUMUJE-UGBOKO/Nigeria: The Executive Assistant ( Media) to the Delta State Governor, Dr. Norbert Kpomiose Chiazor, has declared that Ward 8 in Aniocha North Local Government Area remains one of the strongest political support bases of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, assuring of “relentless backing during the gubernatorial primary and the 2027 general elections.”
Dr. Chiazor, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, who spoke Thursday at the APC Governorship in his homestead stated that Ward 8 comprising Idumuje-Unor, Idumuje-Ugboko and Aniofu, has sustained a longstanding tradition of solidarity with Governor Oborevwori, dating back to the 2022 governorship primary and his eventual emergence as governor.
The communication strategist, popularly known as “Wordsmith,” emphasized that the Idumuje people had remained steadfast with Oborevwori through every political season and particularly gave him one of the highest votes in Aniocha North during the 2023 Governorship elections.
Recalling the political transition from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in April 2025, Dr. Chiazor noted that “Idumuje indigenes had been with the governor every step of the way, further reinforcing his grassroots popularity and populist appeal.”
Dr. Chiazor stated that beyond the natural love of his people for Oborevwori, the Urhobo – born governor, had earned their collective trust through the provision of social infrastructure, including the strategic Oseji Road located at the heart of Idumuje-Unor, headquarters of the Idumuje clan, alongside school projects and modest empowerment initiatives.
According to Dr. Chiazor, the support of the people for Oborevwori has remained steadfast and boundless.
“Political dynamics are both local and centralized. The Idumuje people, as loyal supporters of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, will continue to stand firmly with the governor.
“We are optimistic of a resounding APC victory in 2027. While tomorrow ultimately lies in the hands of God, our prayers, thoughts and loyalty remain with the governor. Oborevwori leads; we follow,” Dr. Chiazor stated.
